This estate plan is appropriate for most estates below 5 million and includes the following: Simple will, advanced medical directive, medical power of attorney, and general power of attorney.
It accomplishes the following:
1- Creates documents that ensures that your probate property and assets are distributed in a manner you desire.
2- Provides guidance for titling of non-probate assets so that they transfer appropriately and seamlessly upon your death and avoids probate.
3-Ensures guidance for your loved ones regarding and protections for yourself if you become incapacitated or cannot make decisions for yourself (both medical and financially).
Revocable Living trusts can be useful for many situations and have numerous advantages compared to a typical will. These include:
1-Living trusts are created while you are alive. It permits you to decide when to fund the trust and gives you control of the trust assets while your are alive;
2- The terms of the Trust can be changed and even dissolved at the creator’s discretion.
3- The Trust, once created, can be used to protect assets,
4- provide protections for your beneficiaries if they are under age, have credit problems, drug problems, or other circumstances that may limit their effectiveness in managing an inheritance.
5- Anything that is placed in the trust via will (called a pour-over will) or prior to your death avoids probate and can make the process of distributing property after death far more simple.
6- There is no public record of one’s assets as there would be with a will. This allows a greater degree of privacy to one’s heirs.

We can also teach you about useful everyday tools such as ABLE accounts to help you navigate the Federal policies that can be cumbersome to navigate on your own.

Essential for giving your loved ones peace of mind when the time comes for medical decisions to be made and you are not capable of giving instructions.
The Virginia TOD deed allows property to be automatically transferred to a new owner when the current owner dies, without the need to go through probate. It also gives the current owner retained control over the property, including the right to change his or her mind about the transfer.
Deed description must be provided. Recordation is an additional fee.
